Activities at Parkside House

A Full Itinerary Of Activities.

We have an entertainment & activities officer who organises outings and daily activities.

We have an entertainment & activities officer who organizes outings to local places of interest, including cafes, parks, the seaside and garden centres.

They manage daily in-house activities such as bingo, singalongs, knitting, crosswords and quizzes and we make sure that residents stay in touch with what is going on throughout the year by celebrating events such as pancake day, Halloween, Royal weddings and Remembrance Day.

Our Manager also organizes regular visits by outside entertainers such as singers and music therapy.

Places We Regularly Visit

Penarth Pier

Penarth Pier

Penarth Pier is one of the last remaining Victorian piers in Wales. Aside from the stunning view, the Pavillion always has something going on! From regular classes (ranging from Summer Art to African Drumming), to exciting art exhibitions & its very own cinema, the pier is bustling with activity. It also features a sweet cafe serving homemade treats & an outdoor seating area with a perfect view of the water!

Alexandra Park

Alexandra Park

Alexandra Park is a well-preserved Edwardian public park in an attractive location overlooking the Bristol Channel, retaining many of its original features. The Edwardian park has been awarded the coveted national Green Flag Award. The park is home to a crystal clear fish pond, bird aviaries, hand carved sculptures and live music through the summer.

Barry Island

Barry Island

Barry Island has attracted visitors since the 1870’s and the appeal of its golden beaches, cafes and family amusements is stronger than ever. The recently refurbished seafront now offers a sweeping promenade along the entire length of Whitmore Bay beach, against a backdrop of enticing cafés and restaurants, vibrant beach huts and lots to amuse the kids with a climbing wall, mist feature, adventure golf and beautiful landscaped gardens.
